Nvidia Seen as 'Investor of Last Resort' to Bail Out OpenAI -- Market Talk

1513 ET - Nvidia's expansive partnership with OpenAI raises some red flags, D.A. Davidson analysts say in a note. " While the announcement is positive for OpenAI's ability to ramp, we are concerned NVDA has become the 'investor of last resort', bailing out OpenAI's overextended commitments," the analysts say, noting they would like to see more traditional investors step up to fund data center buildouts. "OpenAI has been making commitments well beyond its means, in fact double/triple/quadruple booking compute resources," they say, adding OpenAI has made several multi-billion dollar commitments to partners like Oracle and CoreWeave while still losing billions a year.
