New testimonial

I wouldn’t have if I didn’t think it was worth it. With all the great work and insight your efforts are must read for anyone following markets. Not only that, but your voice reminds me of my favorite trader over the years, so despite working mostly alone, your daily recap brings me back to the trading floor. I add that your interaction with followers says it all -Top-Shelf. I hope to start posting on my own soon - I am a longtime HF fleece vest guy mostly trafficking in Commodities/Equities. Thanks again!

And he also sent me a book recommendation too…

The Bubble that Broke the World, by Garet Garrett.

What caused the stock-market crash of 1929 and the Great Depression that followed?

This book blows away the conventional interpretations, not only in its contents but that the book exists at all. The Bubble that Broke the World was written in 1931. Author Garet Garrett ascribes the crash to the pileup of debt, which in turn was made possible by the Federal Reserve’s printing machine.

Testimonials

Two Paying Subscriber Examples:

“Thanks for consistent, quality content. It’s educational and has paid for itself several times over.

Even though I don’t actively trade, there’s so much usefulness in the daily podcast for navigating the bigger picture for my 401(k) and IRA. Often you touch on factors that will impact my clients at my day job, so it’s useful there too.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, there’s a “Zen and the art of” quality to your world. it’s educational, elucidating, and exists at the intersection of theory and practice. Thoughtful and worthwhile!" - Will (Paying Subscriber)

“I've been following NYUGrad for a number of years over on Slope. I pre-committed to his subscription here and have been quite happy with his perspective. I certainly don't execute every trade idea, but I've made about 25% from the anonymized safety stock noted above - it's one of my core holdings now. His paid podcast is well worth the cost of entry.” - John Sep 26 (Paying Subscriber)

  • Cara 100
Cara 100 is an industry cross-section of Bill Cara’s watchlist companies whose fundamentals are above average and worth tracking for possible investment. There is a strong bias for stocks headquartered in the US and Canada. Also, only three of the 100 have market caps below $3 billion today, and all have market caps above $2.5 billion.

  • True Rate of Unemployment (24%!!!)
Using data compiled by the federal government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, the True Rate of Unemployment tracks the percentage of the U.S. labor force that does not have a full-time job (35+ hours a week) but wants one, has no job, or does not earn a living wage, conservatively pegged at $25,000 annually before taxes.
