This quote is from the show “Westworld” in season 3 on HBO Max. I won’t ruin it but the basic premise is most of the civilized world are in a loop. Of our own choosing or ordained, what is the difference? Inspect your own life. Your daily routine. Your dialy thoughts, what you worry about. The routine that is your life. Then your career or vocation. Perhaps what you studied in college. Perhaps the fact you went to college at all.
Humans can be programmed too.
Book Recommendation
A book I am reading right now is
Neil Howe’s “The Fourth Turning is Here”. For me this is confirmation bias and I would agree. The larger picture debt cycle and the social cycle seems to be in sync. The book classifies periods of human cycles into seasons. Seasons where Baby Boomers, Millennials, Gen X, etc, all evolve and grow as they pass the baton.I would agree 100% and you will see yourself, your friends, your parents, your grandparents and your own children all fit into buckets of generational groups and how they all share a commonality that shapes the direction of the world. It is not unique to America. It delves into global communities and countries and how and why we as a group are marching toward bad leaders around the world.
Another anecdote is how so many of our young people are back living with their parents. Regardless of reason, inflation, unemployment, savings etc, this trend was also popular in the 1940s.
The great news is that after the Fourth turning, comes another joyous First turning. For those still alive or survived!
