is on a roll and today’s Substack post made me almost tear. You must subscribe to his Substack. It is money well invested. And if his price is too high for you, he has been known to be super generous and gives out paid subscriptions if you message him and ask nicely!

I am American…legally immigrated here for the opportunity. I took it and ran. Raised by a divorced single mother. Absentee father since 2nd grade. Embarrassed my mother and went around town asking for a part time job in 3rd grade so I can help my mother pay bills.

Only student to go to a private University from my High School class of 1995.

Hard work is a recipe of my American Dream. I do not know if the current generation will all of a sudden opt into hard work or adversity. I still believe the unwind will be disorderly. Likely in the front lines.

However Michael, your leadership and efforts to try to minimize the impacts of extreme left and extreme right is commendable and one I will try to help you with.

As a cynic, maybe the reason I value Michael’s work is confirmation bias. The issue now is the collective pool of 401k which is the Mag7, is too big to fail. The next stock crash will have main st begging for a wall st bailout. Add to that the majority of Boomers will be 65+ after 2030 demanding evermore money printing to pay for their care and social security that has already been spent.

I suspect fracture of passive will show up in bonds, USD, runaway inflation in things we need and deflation in discretionary. Then a hot war for USA. WAR costs money, human sacrifice and hope. My guess is 2030 - 2040 you will see US enter a war so big, that the military draft will be mandatory once again. If you can’t print dollars fast enough and you can’t print raw materials ever, go plunder the earth and fight for it with blood.

That has happened reliably and often in our human history.

I am hopeful as a father to a newborn girl. We will come out of it but I don’t think it will be orderly.

PS. And Wall St will sell first while orchestrating the drawdown and then buy at the bottom as usual. Uncle Tom and Aunt Mary will be too old to wait and will likely sell low. Just like in history.
