I highly highly recommend the book “Project Hail Mary,” by Andy Weir. It is now a movie coming out this month which I plan to see, but I doubt it can match the book.
Great for adults and young kids (the topic of death is covered) so be mindful and read it first to vet, as any good parent would. I plan and hope to read this one chapter a night for story time, once my kid is old enough.
It is filled with science and interstellar obstacles, it makes the reader feel they are there along for the ride!
The overarching theme is about courage and friendship. Doing what is right. All things we need an abundance of today.
